In the 1960s -1970s, when the San Francisco Street Artists were first forming, there was a letter writing campaign to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and Police Chief (see below) by the politically powerful San Francisco Downtown Merchants Association members and others to rid the Street Artists from the streets of San Francisco. Letters below were obtained through Legal Discovery.
